Splendid Parakeets (aka Scarlet Chested Parakeets) are a stunningly beautiful grass Parakeet from Australia. In the United States, these birds have been domestically raised in Aviculture for at least 50 years. Somewhat difficult to breed, they sexually mature between nine and twelve months of age. Unlike the common Pet Store Parakeet, they possess a calm, humble personality and make a very quiet but majestic pet. Perfect for any home environment, we recommend keeping these birds in pairs even if you aren't going to breed them. We only keep a few of the normal type of these birds and availability is limited throughout the year. We recommend joining our waiting list if you really want to get a unrelated pair.
